I've been so busy writing my book that I've certainly neglected this blog. Now my memoir is finished--42,000 words--titled The Last Stop--Reflections on Senior Living. I have used 22 Posts from The Last Stop/SeniorHomes.com, rewriting them to make them more personal and adding essays that I have written that were not appropriate to post on SeniorHomes.com.
Anyway, I have a book that I am quite proud of and expect it to be helpful to men and women making a last stop decision for either themselves or their aging parents.
Now the big dilemma. How to get the book into the hands of the people who will be helped by it. I have started by trying to find an agent that might be interested in the book and present it to a publisher. That's the old fashioned way. Many writers now bypass this and self publish. I could easily do that but then I would be 'a babe in the woods' about marketing it. Another option could be if a large senior homes company bought the book and used it as a sales promotion. I've been told that there are small publishers that accept books directly from the author but I do not know how to find them.
It's sort of like, "have book--who wants it?"
