I've read it, but now that I am living it, I know it is true. Older people fall. And when they fall they seriously injure themselves. Many of the people I know in my retirement community have completely unpredicted falls and end up seriously battered and bruised; broken bones and stitches. One of the hardest things to deal with in living the happy senior life is to hear or see the 911 group arrive to rescue yet another resident. I don't know if there is anything to resolve this problem other than to be careful, be alert, don't take chances, don't take meds that make you unsteady and keep remembering to slow down. I sure am trying to be careful!
