The February picture is my families’ dogs. The aged Cockapoo, Tucker, belongs to the Fridstein family. Now age 13, he joined the Fridstein’s when the twins, Darcie and Jessica, were busy with their adolescent lives and Melissa five years younger wanted a buddy. Dad, Tom, insisted on a male dog. He had grown up with three sisters and now with three daughters he thought some additional male presence in his home would be fun—and all agreed with him. Tucker has been a remarkably good, adaptable, healthy happy dog as the family moved frequently and change homes and composition of their home. Tucker now lives in Denver, when he isn’t at doggie daycare, waiting with Tom and Darlene to make their final move into the newly redesigned family home in Snowmass Village.
The other dog in the picture is a new member of the Tallian family, Busy. Willow, the Golden Retriever we all loved, died a peaceful death from Cancer. A short time later after much research Nancy and Rick bought their English Shepherd two year old male from a breeder. According to Nancy and Rick, Busy’s reluctance to connect with any of us adults relates to his early years in his breeders home being the last of seven sibs. Busy is beautiful but not yet loveable. Hopefully that will happen. He is not naughty, mean or difficult but more distant from we adults than we would like. He does like his owner Rick and to Nancy’s disappointment hangs out with him whenever he’s around. Hopefully this situation improves.
The two dogs, (Are they cousins?), really like each other and have lots of fun when they are together.
