My friend is moving away. It is very sad. Her cancer is terminal and her son, his wife and three children have encouraged her to move to California and spend her last days with them. She has chosen to forgo the end of life care she had planned on here when she made her choice to live here six years ago. She leave tomorrow and we will all miss her deeply.
MOVING AROUND THIS SUMMER
Ive been on the go since May. What fun! The kids live all over the country and I've been off visiting them. There will come a time that I may not be able to do that, but right now it's fly away grandma. New York in May; stayed at Tom's apartment and visited with him (it was the beginning of one of his regular visits home from Beijing). Saw all three of his kids, Melissa, Jessica and Darcie as well as Heather from Seattle who was graduating with a Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia. Kathy and Mark, from Seattle, were also in NY for Heather's graduation as was Eric from Northwestern. I rushed home for Graham's graduation from high school and on to Purdue in the fall. A few weeks later I was off to Glencoe to visit with Peggy and Ray and their three kids, Amanda, Doug, and Carly and spouses and childen. I am now a great grand of six kiddies under five years old. This was a fun and busy Gordon family reunion. Recovering from this, my next stop was Snowmass over the forth of July with Tom and family. Still to come is my visit in Seattle and Port Townson with Kathy and Mark. Just so I don't leave out my Denver family with this recapping of events, let me note that I will be having dinner tomorrow night with Nancy and Rick, as well as their kids Sarah, Dylan and Graham in celebration of Ricks big birthday. I am lucky to have such a great gang. |
